Importance of Reading Newspaper

In this era of globalisation, the habit of reading newspaper is neglected by the community nowadays. This is because the community today is obsessed with electronic gadgets such as iPhone, iPad, smart phone and so forth. The issue has become the talk of the town in the community. The government has carried out a lot of approaches to encourage the community to read newspaper. The question is, what is the importance of reading newspaper? 

First and foremost, newspaper are the source of news and information. Thus, the community can get a lot of information via reading newspapers. For instance, there are healthy tips which make the community has the guideline to lead a healthy lifestyle. As a result, our nation healthy index will increase and result in the evolvement of our country. This is because the healthy residents can help the country to carry out more economic policies. 

Besides, newspaper are the medium of communication too. There are spaces on the newspapers to the readers to speak out their opinion. For example, Stars newspaper have a place for the readers to share about the places where have dainty local food and delicacies. Apart from that, via reading newspaper, the community can also learn about the foreign countries. This is because there are some introductions about the places of interests in the world on the newspaper.

In the other hand, newspaper also contain news on events throughout the world. The community can know about the events and celebrate together. For instance, when Prince William was going to get married with Kate in Britain, the community in Malaysia knew this happy news via newspaper. Moreover, newspaper keep people informed with every knowledge and news that happen in another countries. Furthermore, newspapers also improve one's outlook on life. 

Not only that, newspaper also give an opportunity to make friends. There are some newspapers have prepared some spaces to recognise pen pal. Consequently, the community can widen their social circle. Last but not least, through reading newspapers, the community can also enhance their language ability. This is due to the reason that there are many articles found on the newspapers. These articles may be written by authors, lecturers and reporters who are good in language. The community especially students can learn it and apply it in daily life. 

In the nutshell, newspapers bring the community a lot of advantages which are helpful in our daily life and in the future. Therefore, the community should spend their time to read newspaper daily. People from all walk of life should also collaborate to encourage this habit. Campaigns should be carried out to raise awareness of the community. As a result, our country will full with knowledgeable people and is able t compete with other countries in the world.
